An expungement is a process that allows for an application to be filed and argued before the court in which an individual was convicted to set aside or remove certain criminal offenses from public records so employers and others cannot locate them.  Michigan has recently increased the types and number of criminal convictions that can be set aside or removed from public records.  For example, now the law allows for the expungement of one drinking and driving conviction, for assaultive crimes and a number of other types of misdemeanors.

There are certain criteria which must be met prior to filing an application so, please contact our office to determine whether or not you are eligible to apply.
